Sam and I have done some checking in Branson for 2009 and the Veterans celebration is always the same days!  It is November 5 through the 11th with a parade on the 11th at 11:00 A.M.  Charlie White is the Post commander for the American Legion and i think he is the one in charge of the parade.  We can get a form to fill out  to be in the parade at Post 220, P.O. 858 Bransonn, No. 65615.  (417-334-2296)  You can also check out the website of www.bransonveterans.com for additional information of the 2007 secdule of events and what things were free for the veterans. This site will tell about campgrounds, and shows plus other activities available in the area.  If we want to be in the parade, I would suggest renting the World War II Ducks to transport the men through the parade and if someone can produce a banner for the sides to represent the Tulare, would be great.  Our name is in the "ducks" file to use a duck but they are not taking reservations yet....We will need to make a decision if we want to be a part of the parade or just spectators!

In the spring of 2009, a new airport will open so people will be able to fly in directly to Branson.  The closest airports are Springfield, Mo 43 miles and Little Rock Arkansas 167 miles.

The hotel will be the Great Western Branson Towers.  It is located at 263 Shepherd of the Hills expressway.  Telephone numbers are 800-683-1122 or 417-336-4500.  The fax no. is 417-334-6838.  The e-mail address is Iturner@greatwesternhotels.com .  The website is www.bransontowers.com .  People can call in now to make reservations, their card is not to be charged until they arrive.  A block of 60 rooms are reserved and we hope that all can be filled.  One room is $80.00 plus tax and that is a middle of the road price.  The hotel is fairly level and has a great view.  It has inside corridors, in case of bad November weather. Additional information can be obtained from www.branson.com .  It lists the shows, free things and where to shop!  There are two malls plus many strip malls and gift and specialty shops. November weather can have highs in the 50-63 and lows in the 30's-40's.     

Decisions will need to be made on shows and if we want a bus for one day!
