Comment: I joined the crew of the Big T in June 1966 in Long Beach CA. It was
my first ship board assignment out of A School in Great lakes Training Center.
We deployed in September for Viet Nam and towards the end of our tour we pulled
R&R in Sydney Australia for about a week. I am a Shellback.
Thank you Captain Thompson! The Tulare was a great ship with a great crew.
I have enjoyed reading of the experiences of it's officers and crew members. It brings back the memories.
